Masih and Mahdi are two names of the same person; abolition of religious wars by Masih Mau'ud(as)

The Promised Messiah(as) further explains:

The Hadith1

from the book of Ibn-e-Majah, which is well known by this very name, and is also comprised in the book Mustadrak of Hakim, where it is narrated by Anas bin Malik. This tradition has been narrated by Muhammad bin Khalid Al-Janadi on the authority of Abban bin Saleh, who related it on the authority of Hasan Basri, who related it on the authority of Anas bin Malik, who heard the Messenger(sa) of Allah say this. This Hadith means that there will be no Mahdi except the person who will appear in the spirit of Isa. This means that the same person will be the Promised Messiah and Mahdi who will come in the spirit of Hadrat Isa, peace be on him, and whose teachings will be like those of Hadrat Isa. This means that he will not physically resist evil nor fight; he will spread the truth through his holy example and heavenly signs. This Hadith is supported by another Hadith comprised in the collection of Sahih Bukhari by Imam Bukhari, which says: 2

This means that the Mahdi, whose other name will be the Promised Messiah, will definitely suspend religious wars. He will instruct not to fight in the name of religion, rather to propagate religion through the light of truth, moral miracles and the signs of the nearness to God. I, therefore, affirm that he who fights in this age for the sake of religion, or lends support to any such figher, openly or secretly, counsels fighting or entertain any such designs, is guilty of disobedience to God and the Messenger, and transgresses the limits, obligations and admonitions which are presecrbied by them. (Haqiqat-ul-Mahdi, Ruhani Khazain, Vol. 14, pp. 431-432)

You may observe that the current state of affairs of the Muslims is corroborating this. If these wars were according to the command of Allah the Exalted then Allah declares: 3

Therefore, when Allah’s support is not there, things should be thought through. If they so wish to fight wars, at least they should not fight in the name of Islam.

The fact that the Muslims are being defeated by other nations in this era is also a practical testimony from God that the Messiah who was to come has come and the commandment for wars in the name of religion has been suspended under 4 . Indeed, if you wish to engage in Jihad do so with arguments and reasoning. The consequences of the wars being fought by the Muslims in the name of Islam are – in accordance with the practical testimony of Allah – evident to all who have insight. All the Exalted has promised that He helps the believers if they are true believers. There can be two options; either these Muslims are not true believers or this is the wrong time for wars and that era has finished. Be mindful, these people comprise both of these aspects; for, by not listening to the Holy Prophet they cannot remain momin and owing to their non-acceptance, once the claim of the Promised Messiah is made, they are not rightfully due for Allah's help. So, the one who claimed to be the Messiah and the Mahdi in this era is truthful.

1 There is no Mahdi other than Jesus(as).

2 He will do away with wars.

3 And it was certainly due from Us to help the believers. (Surah Al-Rum, 30:48)

4 He will do away with wars.
