| Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya Part V | Meaning: ‘I was a witness over them only as long I was among them, but when You caused me to die, You were then the Guardian over them’ [Surah al-Ma’idah, 5:118]. In this verse Hazrat ‘Isa links the Christians remaining on the side of truth with his own lifetime. Hence, if Hazrat ‘Isa is still living, it follows necessarily that the Christians are still upon the truth. And this verse also proves that Hazrat ‘Isa will not return to this world before the Day of Resurrection, otherwise it follows necessarily that—God forbid—he would lie in the presence of God that he had no knowledge of his people going astray. Firstly, in no lexicon do we find the word tawaffa being translated as such. Moreover, since the verse speaks about the Day of Judgement, and this is what Jesus(as) will have to say for himself on that day, it follows that the Last Day will arrive but Jesus(as) will not have died, for he will have presented himself before God in his physical body before he could ever be made to suffer death. To misinterpret the Holy Quran thus is to surpass even the Jews in the art of interpolation! [Author] |

The Holy Quran clearly states that this question will be put to Jesus(as) on the Day of Judgement, therefore, according to their interpretation of the word it has to be believed that Jesus(as) will not have died prior to his appearance before God on the Day of Judgement. And if the verse is taken to mean, 'How could I have ever known about the condition of my people after You had caused me to die?', this interpretation would also be wrong in the context of their belief, for God would reply: "Why are you lying to Me that you do not know about the condition of your people, while you have been to the world a second time and have stayed there for forty years, and have waged wars against the Christians and have broken the cross?" Another thing that follows from their interpretation is that the Christians have not gone astray and are still on the right path because Jesus(as) is still alive in heaven! They should really die of shame! In conclusion, remember that the 'Seal of Prophethood' does not break if a follower of the Holy Prophet(sa) is honoured with revelation, inspiration and Prophethood, and is even given the title of 'Prophet' through obedience to him, for such a person is only a follower and is nothing in himself. All his excellence is, in fact, the excellence of the Prophet whom he follows. And he is not called a Prophet, but a Prophet and a follower. But the coming back of a Prophet, who is not a follower, will surely go against Khatm-e-Nubuwwat. [Author] |

| Haqiqatul-Wahi | 3 Unfortunately, after the first three centuries of the Islamic era, certain Muslim sects adopted the belief that Hadrat ‘Isa (peace be on him) escaped crucifixion and ascended to Heaven where he physically resides to this day, and he has not been afflicted with death. Such ignorant Muslims have greatly helped the cause of Christianity. They claim that there is no mention of the death of ‘Isa anywhere in the Holy Quran, when in truth it does mention it explicitly on several occasions. The verse [‘But since You did cause me to die’, (Surah al-Ma’idah, 5:118)] for example, is categorical about his demise. They claim that the verse [‘They slew him not, nor crucified him’, (Surah an-Nisa’, 4:158)] signifies that Hadrat ‘Isa is still alive. Their reasoning for this is truly lamentable! Does a person who is not crucified never die? I have said again and again that the Holy Quran negates ‘Isa’s death by crucifixion and proclaims his ascension, not because God wants to prove that ‘Isa is still alive, but to dispel the notion of his accursed death and to confirm that he was spiritually exalted like all believers. It was primarily meant to refute the Jews who did not believe in his (spiritual) ascension. (Author) |
| Haqiqatul-Wahi | 10 Given that Hadrat ‘Isa(as) gave the staff to Charagh Din to kill me, it is not known why this fury and anger was roused in his heart. If he became displeased because I publicized his [ Jesus’] death throughout the world, then it is his error. I did not publicize it. Rather, it was publicized by Him whose creation Hadrat ‘Isa is, like we are. If there is any doubt about it, look at this verse [Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him, (Surah Al-e-‘Imran, 3:145)] and also the verse [But since You did cause me to die, You have been the Watcher over them, (Surah al-Ma’idah, 5:118)]. The surprising part of it is that the one to whom he gives his staff, he himself perishes. Some staff that is! I have heard that this second Charagh Din i.e. ‘Abdul- Hakim Khan too has, like the first Charagh Din, made some prophecy about my death, but it is not known whether there is any mention of the staff in it or not.
