Qa‘dah

“In the very end is the Qa‘dah, which is a state of tranquility after the Sajdah, in which, after passing through the stages of devotion and humility, an individual enters the content servants of God the Almighty.” (Sirat Khatamun Nabiyyin, pp. 211, Seal of the Prophets, vol. 1, pp. 286)

“After the second Prostration, he sits down in the same manner as he sat in the position called Jilsah. This Sitting Position, at the end of the second Rak‘at is called Qa‘dah. During this position Tashahhud is recited silently, which is as follows:” (Salat-The Muslim Prayer Book, pp. 46)

All verbal worship is due to Allah and all physical acts of worship and financial sacrifices, peace be on you, O prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings, peace be on us, and on the righteous servants of Allah.

I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

“After reciting Tashahhud, the invocation of blessings on the Holy Prophet(sa) called Durud (Assalatu-‘alan-nabi) and some other prayers are recited silently.” (Salat-The Muslim Prayer Book, pp. 48)

O Allah, bless Muhammad and his people, as You did bless Ibrahim and his people. You are indeed the Praiseworthy, the Glorious.

O Allah, prosper Muhammad and his people, as You did prosper Ibrahim and his people. You are indeed the Praiseworthy, the Glorious.

After Durud, we can observe any of several different prayers that the Holy Prophet(sa) is narrated to have observed at the end of Salat, including 2:202 and 14:41-42 of the Holy Quran.

Our Lord, grant us good in this world as well as good in the world to come, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.

My Lord, make me observe Prayer, and my children too. Our Lord! Do accept my prayer. Our Lord, grant forgiveness to me and to my parents and to the believers on the day when the reckoning will take place.

“After reciting one or more of these prayers, the Imam turns his face towards the right and says Assalamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullah, i.e. peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah, and then turns his face towards the left and repeats Assalamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullah, to mark the end of the Prayer.” (Salat-The Muslim Prayer Book, pp. 52)

Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.
