After a long fruitful and successful life, on 19 April 2003, at the age of seventy-five, Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih IV (rta) passed away in London, England. Innaa lillahe wa innaa ilaihe raajiun [Surely, to Allah we belong, and to Him shall we return].
On 22 April 2003, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba) was elected as Khalifatul-Masih V. He led the funeral prayer of Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih IV (rta) in which thousands of Ahmadis from all over the world participated. Huzoor’s burial took place in Islamabad, Tilford. In memory of Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad (rta) a memorial gravestone has been placed in Bahishti Maqbarah, Rabwah.
