Ever since this mischief of the caricatures began, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was the first one to raise the issue, and had trie to stop the newspaper from doing it. I have already mentioned this. In addition, in December and January we again wrote to these newspapers, and clearly stated our feelings. In those days, I was in Qadian when our Missionary wrote to the newspaper. Our Missionary's interview was published in the newspaper. This paper reported about the response of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community regarding this matter. After writing that these people prefer to present their lives moulded on the model of the Holy Prophet(sa) than to damage and destruction, he wrote that it does not mean that the Imam (it was Imam's interview) is not hurt by the caricatures. Rather, he is heart broken by the caricatures. In fact his pain and hurt inspired him to promptly write an article on the caricatures issue. Accordingly, this article was duly written and published in a Danish newspaper.
It is the love of the Promised Messiah(as) for the Holy Prophet(sa) that has so enthused the Community with such love that the European Christian converts to Ahmadiyyat, the true Islam, are also steeped in it.
An interview of one of our Danish Ahmadi Muslims, Abdus Salam Madsen was published in the newspaper 'Venster Bladet' on 16th February 2006. It was a long interview, and I shall read out a part of it.
Its translation is:
Mr. Madsen further said that the Prime Minister of Denmark should have talked with the Ambassadors of the Muslim countries, as seeing the caricatures makes people very angry. Had the Prime Minister of Denmark consulted with the Ambassadors of the Muslim countries he would have known how serious the matter was, and what consequences could ensue. The response that materialised is exactly the kind of reaction I felt would follow the publication of the caricatures. This is because the Holy Prophet(sa) is an exemplar for every Muslim in every aspect of life. When a contemptible attack is launched against such a person, it is distressing for every Muslim. They feel pain and hurt.
Mr. Abdus Salam Madsen asks what did the Danish newspaper,Yoland Posten, achieve by publishing these caricatures? It is further reported that Mr. Madsen was also most distressed at the publication of the caricatures of the Holy Prophet(sa). Then he writes that the description of the appearance of the Holy Prophet(sa) as to how his appearance was is well-documented. The fact is that this is simply a dirty and childish act.
He further wrote that Denmark has an anti-defamation law.
I used to think that it was not necessary but I now believe that to stem disorder it is required to apply this law. As far as the sa defamation of the Holy Prophet(sa) is concerned, the matter is with God and He shall chastise for it." Observe, how solid faith a European Ahmadi Muslim has!
Such were our reactions to this disgusting act concerning the Holy Prophet(sa).
