Friday Sermon Delivered on 24th February, 2006

I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and He is One and has no partner. And I bear witness that Muhmmmad is His Servant and Messenger.

After this, I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the rejected.

In the Name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. The Gracious, the Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment. Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help. Guide us in the right path -- The path of those on whom Thou has bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred displeasure, and those who have not gone astray. (Surah Al-Fatihah, 1:1-7)

Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! you also should invoke blessings on him and salute him with the salutation of peace. (Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:57)

I shall carry on with the previous subject concerning the events, which have been happening for the past few weeks. Today, again, I will briefly speak about the wicked attitude of some newspapers of the West that they have initiated in the name of freedom of the press and freedom of conscience. This is hurtful to the sentiments of Muslims. I also want to talk about the protests which are going on in Muslim countries at the individual, communal as well as governmental level against some newspapers. In fact the OIC (Organisation of Islamic Countries) has said that the Western countries will be pressured to apologise as well as to legislate against offending Prophets of God in the name of freedom of the press and freedom of conscience. If they do not abstain, then world peace could not be guaranteed. It is a very good response from these countries and the OIC. May Allah strengthen the Muslim countries and enable them to be capable of getting such decisions made for world peace with sincerity of heart.
