Heavenly signs in support of the Promised Messiah(as)

There is also a heavenly sign of his truthfulness which I have mentioned before; that is the solar and lunar eclipse. This is a sign that could have no possible human interference. 1400 years ago the Holy Prophet(sa) prophesied in a specific manner, and informed us that in this specific manner - in this day and age, now that science has greatly advanced, the predictions about the near future, let alone the distant future cannot be made - that it will be the month of Ramadan, that a solar eclipse will occur on such and such date, and a lunar eclipse will occur on such and such date.

The Hadith states:

(Sunan Dar Qutni, Kitabul Eidain, Babu Sifati Salatil Khusufi)

That is, there are only two signs of the truthfulness of Our Mahdi, and since the earth came into being these signs of truthfulness have never appeared before. In Ramadan the lunar eclipse will occur on the first night of the nights of lunar ecplise and the solar eclipse will occur on the middle of the days of solar eclipse.

In was in 1894 that this eclipse occurred. Between the dates of 13th, 14th, and 15th Ramadan the lunar eclipse occurred on the 13th and from the dates of 27th, 28th, and 29th the solar eclipse occurred on 28th Ramadn. This is very clear proof of his truthfulness.

The Promised Messiah(as) has said that at the time there was no other claimant apart from him. Some maulavis argue about [the word] “Qamar” etc. According to some “Qamar” is the moon of the night following the second night and according to others it is the moon of the night following the third night. Let them show if there was a claim other than that of the Promised Messiah(as) before this corroborating sign appeared. If there is a claim, it is that of just one person; Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani. The Promised Messiah(as) has clearly stated that numerous signs have been fulfilled, if it is not him, then, let's see who else has come because it certainly is the need of the hour. However, these people cannot comply, as the Promised Messiah(as) alone, is the true claimant because he is supported by worldly and heavenly substantiations. The Divinely explained standard of prophethood supports him. Many people have accepted in the past that he had a pure and chaste character. His past was pure, and his youth was pure. He was scholarly and no one else served Islam as he did. The outsiders have accepted this. Despite having witnessed all this, if they are still confused then God help them, because it is with God's Grace alone that the capacity to believe in someone is granted.

The Promised Messiah(as) writes:

Let them say, if this humble person is not being truthful, who else came, who claimed in a way as did this humble person, to be the Mujaddid at the onset of the 14th century. Did anyone rise, armed with Divinely revealed prayers, against all the opponents as this humble person did?

That is, ponder about it, have some shame; fear Allah. Why do you exceed limits in brazenness?

If this humble person is at fault to claim as the Promised Messiah then you people should make some endeavours so that the one who, in your opinion is the Promised Messiah, descends from the heavens one of these days. I am around at the moment, however the one you await is not around. My claim can be invalidated only in the event that he descends from the heavens so that I am branded a criminal.

This is the challenge he gave at the time to everyone.

If you people are on the truth then you should pray collectively that the Messiah, son of Mary, is soon observed descending from the heavens. If you are truthful, then this prayer will be accepted because the prayer of the truthful is accepted against the prayer ofliars.

This means that compared to a liar's prayers, those of a truthful one are accepted.

However, you may be absolutely assured that this prayer will certainly not be accepted because you are in the wrong. The Messiah has come but you have not recognised him. Now this imaginary hope of yours will never be fulfilled. This age will page and none among them will see the Messiah descend. (Izala-e-Auham Part 1, Ruhani Khazain, Vol. 3, p. 179)

The Promised Messih(as) further says:

This is the reason why I say that these people are the enemies of religion and truth. If a party of these people were to reform their hearts and come to me even now, I am still prepared to remove their absurd and nonsensical doubts. I would demonstrate to them how God has facilitated prophecies like a vast army, as proof of my claim, which manifest the truth like daybreak.
